Senior US official: Former US ambassador to Israel joins US government team on Iran

A senior US State Department official told Axios that Daniel Shapiro, the former US ambassador to Israel, began last week as a senior adviser to Robert Mali, the US envoy to Iran. A source said Shapiro had consulted before Joe Biden and Naftali Bennett, but did not meet with the Israeli delegation.
