U.S Asks Iran to Stop the Persecution of Minorities on Cyrus the Great Day

In a tweet honoring the Cyrus the Great Day, Heather Nauert, the spokesperson for the Department of State asked the Islamic Republic authorities to stop their persecution of minority groups.

"Over 2000 years ago, Cyrus the Great promoted religious tolerance in Persia. Today, on Cyrus Day, the Iranian regime should learn a few lessons from his leadership and stop persecuting Bahais, Christian converts, Gonabadi Dervishes and other minority groups in Iran."

The Islamic Republic has systemically been persecuting the mentioned religious minorities and other groups since the Islamic Revolution.
