Trump Tweets about Rouhani's Visit
In a tweet about meeting Rouhani, the president of the Islamic Republic, President Donald Trump wrote:
"Despite requests, I have no plans to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Maybe someday in the future. I am sure he is an absolutely lovely man!”
The U.S president had previously announced that if the Iranian president asks for a meeting, he would meet with him and they could engage in negotiations with no preconditions. Rouhani had called Trump’s announcement absurd.
