Trump mediates historical peace deal between Israel and UAE

In a surprise announcement, President Trump announced that the UAE and Israel have reached a historical deal to normalize relations with his mediation

As part of the agreement between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Crowned Prince of Abu Dhabi, Israel would not annex the parts of the West Bank that it currently occupies.

White House officials say the deal was the result of lengthy negotiations between the three countries that sped up recently.

The statement released by the three countries states that the agreement will bring peace in the Middle East.

Brian Hook, the former U.S Representative on Iran said the peace between Arabs and Israel is Iran’s worst nightmare.

U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also welcomed the peace deal and said Washington hopes that this brave stem is the first in reaching a series of agreements to end 72 years of conflict in the region.

While joking that he wanted to name the deal “Donald J Trump accord,” the president added: “We are already discussing this with other nations. So, you will probably see others of these.”

Israel’s ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer tweeted shortly after the agreement was announced saying: “A great day for peace! Israel commends the courage of MBZ for the historic decision of the UAE to join Egypt (1979) and Jordan (1994) in making peace with Israel. Israel deeply appreciates all that President Trump has done to make this breakthrough possible. More to come!”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the deal “full, formal peace” with “one of the strongest countries in the world.”

“Together we can bring a wonderful future. It is an incomparably exciting moment,” Netanyahu said. “I have the great privilege to make the third peace treaty between Israel and an Arab country, the UAE.”
