Russia and Saudi Arabia's Joint Efforts to Stabilize the Oil Market

Khalid Al-Falih, the Saudi minister of energy said Riadh and Moscow have decided to extend their agreement on stabilizing the oil market.

This is at the time when the new sanctions on Iranian oil are predicted to have a strong impact on the price of oil worldwide.

About a month ago, Reuters reported on a behind-the-scenes agreement between Saudi Arabia and Russia to increase oil production. The decision was made to compensate for the sanction on Iranian oil.

According to the reports, two large Chinese companies have stopped ordering oil from Iran in October. However, a Russian oil executive says Iran is planning on delivering 20 million barrels of oil to China’s Dalian port in October and November.
