Press TV Host Marzia Hashemi Was Released

Marzia Hashemi, host, and reporter at Press TV, owned by the Islamic Republic, was released today in the United States after 11 days.

Marzia Hashemi, born Melanie Franklin, is a U.S born citizen. She was arrested on Sunday last week after she entered the United States.

The American officials announced that she has not been charged with any crimes, but she has to testify as a witness in a case regarding Islamic Republic’s media activities in the United States.

The case in which she has testified is about whether or not Press TV which is active within the United States can be considered the Islamic Republic regime’s operative. If a media is considered a government operative, it has to be registered under this label in the United States.
