Netanyahu: Israel’s Attacks Against Iran’s Bases in Syria Continues

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, in his meeting with Vladimir Putin, stated that the Israeli army continues its attacks against Iran’s positions in Syria.

On his visit to Moscow, Netanyahu once again stated that Iran is the biggest threat to the stability and security of the region and that Israel will continue its attacks against Iranian bases in Syria.

The meeting between Netanyahu and Putin was held behind closed doors.

Vladimir Putin said that the continued cooperation between Russia and Israel is important. He did not comment about Iran during the press conference.

Netanyahu’s visit to Russia happens two days after Bashar Assad’s visit to Iran. Russia is Iran’s greatest ally in Syria and has a military presence in that country. However, a month ago Iranian media reported that there is a cooperation between Moscow and Tel Aviv. The chairman of the national security committee of the parliament said that Russia turns off its S300 air defense missiles when Israel is attacking Iranian targets in Syria. He claimed that if the S3-00 systems work properly, Israel would not be able to attack Iranian bases so easily.

Tehran has repeated the position that Iranian forces have been invited to Syria by the government and it is Israel that is violating international laws.
