Islamic Republic’s Response to New E.U Sanctions

In response to the new Eu sanctions on Islamic Republic’s ministry of intelligence and two Iranian diplomats, Bahram Ghasemi, the spokesperson for the ministry of foreign affairs said: “Instead of putting terrorist groups like MKO and Al Ahvaziya  on the terror list, the EU has allowed them to continue their terrorist activities and even supports them, but they accuse the Islamic Republic, which has been the standard bearer for fighting terrorism in the region. Europe owes its safety to the Islamic Republic.”

According to Ghasemi, this act of the European Union “is a sign of dishonesty in the fight against terrorism.”

He continued: “The Islamic Republic will take necessary measures in response to this act.” On Tuesday, the European Union imposed sanctions against the Islamic Republic’s intelligence ministry for “attempted assassinations of Iranian dissidents on European soil.”

At the same time, the Denmark police announced that the intelligence agents of the Islamic Republic have tried to assassinate several Iranian dissidents in that country.

During the Summer of 2018, several Iranians were arrested on the charge of an attempted bombing of the MKO rally in France.

Stef Blok, the foreign minister of Netherlands also announced on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic regime is responsible for the death of two Iranian dissidents living in that country in 2015 and 2017.

The Islamic Republic has denied all the allegations.
