Iran Welcomes Yemen Peace Talks

The spokesperson for the foreign ministry of the Islamic Republic welcomed the initial agreements between the Yemenis during the Stockholm talks and said that Iran supports the end of bloodshed and continued talks between the Yemenis.

According to ISNA, Bahram Ghasemi stated that the “trust-building steps and the initial agreements” gives hope about the continuation of these talks. He claimed that the agreement over issues such as Al Hudaydah Port shows that the two sides have understood the regrettable conditions of the Yemenis people.

He hoped that the Hudaydah harbor and Sanaa airport would be able to receive humanitarian aid as soon as possible.

Since last Thursday, negotiations have started between the two sides of Yemeni conflict in Stockholm.

Yemen Civil War started in 2014, when Islamic Republic-backed Houthis overthrew the government of Yemen, and in response, Saudi Arabia and its allies entered the war.
