Hook to Iran International: No Possibility of Military Conflict Between Iran and U.S

In response to the question by Iran International Journalist, Brian Hook, the Special Representative for Iran, rejected the possibility of military tension between Iran and U.S.

Iran International journalist asked Hook that due to the increased threats made by Iranian officials against U.S forces after the decision to put IRGC on the terror list, has the threat of military conflict between the two sides increased?

Hook responded that the goal of designating IRGC as a terrorist group was to increase the international cost of their behavior.

The chairman of Iran Action Group emphasized: “By reviewing the history of the Islamic Republic, we believe there is no possibility of military conflict. Companies across the world must realize that working with Iran has severe and heavy consequences.”

Hook also criticized the attitude of previous administrations toward Iran: “We will not play by Iran’s rules because it is doomed to fail, and we do not believe in allowing Iran to increase its influence in the region and world, as the Europeans do.”

On the issue of the European special-purpose vehicle for trade with Iran, Hook said: “This is not an instrument to evade U.S sanctions, because surely big European companies will not replace America’s huge market with Iran’s small market.”
