Hassan Nasrallah: We Hope Iran Continues to Support Hezbollah

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, in his meeting with Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, expressed his hope that Iran’s aid to Hezbollah continues.

According to Almenar, Zarif said that Iran is “dedicated to its core principles and continues to stand with Lebanon.”

In a recent speech, Nasrallah had suggested that Lebanon should buy an air missile system from Iran, which was rejected by the deputy speaker of the Lebanese parliament.

However, after arriving in Lebanon, Zarif announced that Iran is ready to equip Lebanon with the missile system should the country agree to it.

Since its formation, Lebanon’s Hezbollah has received financial and military support from the Islamic Republic. The United States and Israel consider Hezbollah a terrorist organization. Hezbollah holds three cabinet seats in the new government of Prime Minister Hariri.

During his meeting with Zarif, Prime Minister Hariri asked for the release of Nizar Zakka, the Lebanese national information technology expert who has been imprisoned in Iran for the past three years.

Zakka was accused of spying for the United States and was sentenced to ten years in prison. His family has asked Nasrallah to ask for his release.
