Britain warns Iran against breaching the nuclear deal
In response to Iran exceeding the uranium enrichment limit set in the nuclear deal, the spokesperson for the British Prime Minister Theresa May said Britain will immediately discuss the next steps with its allies in the JCPOA.
Jeremy Hunt, the foreign minister of Britain also warned Iran against taking further steps to scale-down compliance with the JCPOA.
Hunt tweeted: “Deeply worried by Iran's announcement that it has broken existing nuclear deal obligations. The UK remains committed to making the deal work and using all diplomatic tools to de-escalate regional tensions.”
He continued: "I urge Iran to avoid any further steps away from JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) and come back into compliance."
Israel’s minister of energy described Iran’s decision as “nuclear blackmail” and said international pressures can force Tehran to retreat.
Prime Minister Netanyahu also stated that Israel will not allow Tehran to produce nuclear weapons. He asked the European countries to impose new “nuclear sanctions” against Iran.
On Monday, the IAEA confirmed that Iran has exceeded the low-grade uranium enrichment limit set by the JCPOA.
