Boris Johnson: Jeremy Corbyn backs the mullahs in Tehran

In his first address to the House of Commons, the newly elected Prime Minister Boris Johnson accused Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the Labour Party, of backing the Islamic Republic regime of Iran and taking money from Press TV.

In response to questions by Jeremy Corbyn regarding his commitment to the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA), Johnson responded: “How on earth could he ask about Iran?”

“The right honourable gentleman who has been paid by Press TV of Iran. Who repeatedly sides with the mullahs of Tehran rather than our friends in the United States over what is happening in the Persian Gulf,” said Johnson.

“How incredible we should even think of entrusting that gentleman with the stewardship of this country’s security,” he added.

Tensions have risen between Iran and Britain due to the seizure of tankers. A few days after Britain detained an Iranian tanker in Gibraltar for violating EU sanctions on Syria, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps seized a British tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.

Johnson also promised to leave the EU by October 31 or earlier with or without a deal.
