As the U.S imposes new sanctions against Iran, John Bolton, the national security adviser to the White House said in Israel that Washington still wants to negotiate with Iran.

Bolton said: “We will add to the sanctions and we believe these sanctions will bring Iran back to the negotiation table.

While attending a security summit with Israel and Russia in Jerusalem, Bolton said: “The president left the negotiation doors open.”

According to Bolton, “all that Iran needs to do is walk through that open door” by ending its ballistic missile and nuclear program and its support of international terrorism.

Bolton emphasized: “Iran’s threats are very serious…Iran has used its proxy forces to attack the tankers and has shot down an American drone.”

The White House national security adviser said the Islamic Republic continues to spread violence in the region while its economy is collapsing, and corruption is rampant.

At the beginning of the summit, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about Israel’s efforts to prevent Iran from increasing its military presence in Syria. He said Iran uses its neighbors as channels to attack Israel and his country will try to stop these efforts.

Netanyahu also mentioned Israel’s good relations with Russia, and said during the Trump Administration, relations between Israel and the United States is at new heights.

After Bolton, his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev also emphasized on peace in the region and said Israel’s security is important to Russia because two million Russian citizens live in Israel.

He also mentioned his country’s cooperation with Iran in the fight against terrorism and said other regional powers must be included in the fight.
