State-TV reporter confirms her connection to Gholian’s interrogator

After Civil Rights activist Sepideh Gholian revealed that Ameneh Sadat Zabihpour, the state-TV reporter was involved in the production of forced confession videos, the reporter confirmed her connection to Gholian’s interrogator.

On Friday, Zabihpour responded to Gholian’s claimes and she had met with the interrogator while Civil Rights activist was in prison. Zabihpour’s Instagram page became unavailable after posting the response.

In her response, Zabihpour denies direct contact with Gholian in Ahvaz prison but writes: “When your interrogator came to Tehran, I met with her. A classy, calm, and decent woman, … told the truth about you.”

The reporter also mentioned Gholian’s hair color and calls her a “naive” person who turns into “any color” and said she pities her.

The state-TV recently broadcasted a documentary claiming that the recent protests in Iran and the death of Pouya Bakhtiari, who was mentioned by U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, was a project by the dissident media to create martyrs.

After the broadcast, Gholian revealed that Zabihpour had prepared texts for her to read in front of the camera as her confessions to be later used in the documentary.

On her Twitter account, Gholian asked for help from legal experts in order to bring a lawsuit against Zabihpour.
