On Wednesday, as the sanction waivers for the customers of Iranian oil expires, President Hassan Rouhani emphasized that Iran will continue to sell oil, and also claimed that Iran will be able to compensate for the lost oil revenue “from other channels.”

During his visit to Kermanshah province, Rouhani stated: “What the Americans are saying is baseless, we know the region and Iran’s power better than them. If we receive less oil money, we will compensate it from other channels.”

The president of the Islamic Republic did not clarify what he meant by other channels. But yesterday, he had claimed that Iran has “six routes” to sell oil that Washington is unaware of.

Rouhani added that the power of Americans is “not as big as their tongue” and “our nation’s is more powerful and can sacrifice more than the Americans can imagine.”

He continued: “We have good relations with our neighbors, especially our neighbors to the west. Our relations with our neighbors to the east and north is also great. To the south, except for a couple of neighbors who have issues, and we pray for them in Ramadhan so that God would give them their brains back, we have good relations with the rest of our neighbors.”

Saudi Arabia cut political and economic ties with Iran years ago after two of their consulates were set on fire in Tehran and Mashhad. Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Manama, all accuse Tehran of intervention in their domestic affairs by supporting Shia opposition groups.

However, Rouhani claimed that: “We do not carry animosity towards anyone, but we will not sit idly by in the face of conspiracies, and we will respond to the plots and schemes and animosities.”
