Khamenei orders IRGC to increase its international activities

In a meeting with the commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, expressed his content with the performance of this military institution and demanded the expansion of its international activities.

Khamenei said on Wednesday: “We must not be content with our region alone and (we shouldn’t) chose to stay behind our walls and pay no mind to the threats behind the borders.”

While mentioning the international activities of the IRGC, the leader of Islamic said: “The country’s strategic depth is the broad international vision of the IRGC, which is sometimes more important than anything else, but some people don’t realize this.”

He emphasized that he is “100 percent content” with the activities of the IRGC, but he is not content with this level of progress and believes that “this institution can grow and develop 10 or even 100 times more based on its own capabilities and talents.”

He also called on the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) to prepare “to face massive events.”

Khamenei also mentioned the efforts made by Europeans to set up a meeting between Rouhani and Trump, claiming: “In order to force our president into a meeting, the Americans even resorted to begging and asked for help from their European friends, but they failed.”

He condemned the US “maximum pressure campaign” against Iran and claimed it has had no impact on the economy.

Khamenei also promised more scale-down on Iran’s compliance with its commitments to the nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
