Iran’s Minister of Health: The spread of coronavirus will increase in upcoming days

Saeed Namaki, Iran’s Minister of Health announced the “peak” of coronavirus spread in the upcoming days and said a “difficult week” is up ahead.

After the coronavirus crisis management meeting on Friday, Namaki told the reporters: “The international and national epidemiological observations of the disease indicate that the peak of the virus is in the upcoming days.”

“We do not believe in the quarantine of cities and don’t consider it a scientific method, but we are trying to control people’s travels, and I ask the people to travel less,” said Namaki.

He also asked for shorter work hours and work from home.

Namaki added: “The Minister of Education with the help of State-TV and other organizations must find a way to provide education for students at home.”

According to the Health Minister, all the universities will be closed until the end of the week, but the personnel and the faculty will be present.

He also stated that all stadiums and sports events are still closed, and football and other sports events are held without audiences.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health announced on Friday that the death toll of coronavirus in Iran has reached 34. Other reports indicate much higher number. The MP of Rasht city in the parliament also announced on Friday that the officials are hiding the real number of victims of coronavirus.

According to Iran International’s reliable sources, the confirmed death toll of coronavirus is 192.
