Hassan Khomeini: No Guarantee That We Will Remain in Power

Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini, said in a speech at his grandfather’s house: “The foundation of the society is people’s content, and there is no guarantee that we will remain (in power) while others are overthrown.”

He continued: “We have to understand the principles of people’s behaviors, and the reasons for stability and crumbling in order to utilize them in life. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that we would remain in power while others are overthrown. If you do not abide by the principles, they will take away your power.”

Previously, Faezeh Hashemi, daughter of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani had also warned about the “ideological collapse” of the Islamic Republic regime, and said, “if a physical collapse hasn’t happened yet, it is only because people are worried about who is going to take power when the Islamic Republic is gone.”
