Defense Minister: Islamic Republic’s Support of Yemen is Spiritual
General Amir Hatami, defense minister of the Islamic Republic said: “the Islamic Republic’s support of Yemen, is a spiritual support.”
The United States and several other countries have accused Iran of military intervention in Yemen.
On Thursday, the department of state exhibited the “evidence of Islamic Republic’s military support of Houthis in Yemen”. In his speech at the event, Brian Hook, the chairman of Iran Action Group, said that Iran’s support of Houthis in Yemen is “an obvious violation of U.N resolutions.”
The Islamic Republic defense minister has responded to these allegations by saying that the Americans accuse the Islamic Republic because “Iran has not allowed their efforts in Yemen to succeed”.
The civil war in Yemen is in its third year. During this war, the Houthis, backed by Iran, took over most of the western areas of Yemen and overthrew the government. Saudi Arabia, Emirates, and seven other Arab countries entered the war to bring back the legitimate government of Yemen to power.
