Army: We Do Not Have Any Bases in Syria
On Tuesday, Abolfazl Shekarchi, the spokesperson for Iran’s army, announced that “the Islamic Republic does not have any military bases in Syria.
According to IRNA, Shekarchi claimed: “We do not have independent headquarters in Syria to be targeted.”
He continued: “It is possible that they would bomb Syrian bases and Islamic Republic consultants in those bases get injured.”
It seems Shekarchi’s words are in response to reports about IRGC bases getting attacked again in Syria.
It was reported that a caravan of Syrian armed forces along with IRGC subsidiary groups and Hezbollah forces were attacked by the coalition forces.”
Previously there were many reports of Israel missile attacks on the military bases of IRGC and its subsidiaries and Hezbollah near Golan Heights. Israel neither confirms or denies these attacks.
Islamic Republic insists that there are no IRGC and army forces in Syria other than consultants, and even they were invited by the Syrian government.
Meanwhile, there are numerous reports of IRGC forces and Qods force subsidiaries getting killed in Syria, which indicates they were present in war zones and in the front lines.
