Official reports from Iran show that after President Rouhani’s emphasis on using CCTV to identify the November protesters, nearly 400 more protesters have been arrested in Tehran and other cities across Iran in the past 10 days.

A judiciary official announced on Wednesday that an atlas of Iran’s protest-risk areas, and on Tuesday, the chief of Iran’s police force said that the protests are in fact “the enemy exploiting people’s discontent.”

At the same time, police officials across the country have reported continued arrests of protesters in the past ten days.

In Tehran province at least 15 arrests have been officially reported in the past ten days. The chief of police for Shiraz province recently reported 48 arrests, and 35 arrests have been reported in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province.

All the arrested protesters have been labeled as “agitators” and “riot leaders”.

On November 25, the spokesperson for the national security committee of the parliament reported the number of arrested protesters at around 7000, but this number has continued to rise since.

Iran International’s investigations had previously shown that on the third week after the beginning of the protests, 500 more protesters were arrested.

The regime’s silence about the number of arrested and killed protesters has led to concerns and protests from international Human Rights organizations. UN and EU have also demanded the regime to end the violence and release the arrested protesters.
