Death of at least nine prisoners in Iran from COVID-19

Reports from Iran indicate the death of nine prisoners in Fashashuyeh, Qarchak Varamin, and Urmia prisons from COVID-19, but the president of the Prisons Organization in Iran has denied these reports.

On Thursday, it was reported that two prisoners recently died of coronavirus due to lack of medical treatment. One prisoner in Urmia prison and six prisoners have died in Tehran’s central prison.

 

Manuchehr Bakhtiari: They destroyed Pouya’s grave

Manuchehr Bakhtiari, the father of Pouya Bakhtiari, one of the Iranian protesters killed in November by the Islamic Republic security forces, announced in a video that the regime has destroyed his son's gravesite and desecrated it.

Bakhtiari did not offer details about the incident but said that these actions were taken in order to provoke the family.

Speaker of parliament: Khamenei's message will be our road map

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the new speaker of Iran’s parliament, announced that the message of Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic regime of Iran for the first day of the 11th parliament, will be the road map of the parliament for the next four years. Khamenei had stated that the Islamic Republic “has not received a desirable score in the area of justice.”

Khamenei said this outcome is an undesirable reality and that everyone must make “mental and practical efforts to improve the lives of vulnerable classes as a priority.”

The Guardian Council passes the "fighting Israel's hostility" act.

The spokesperson for the GuardianCouncil announced that the council has approved of the bill to "fight Israel's hostilities". The bill tasks the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran with following up in the UN the plan for a national referendum in Palestine.

According to the bill, any "cultural or propaganda action that would support or emboldens" Israel would be punished and sentenced to prison.

 

Body of Human Rights activist Ali Ajami was brought to Iran from Texas

 

The body of human rights activist Ali Ajamiwas transferred to Iran and buried in his hometown in Sabzevar on Thursday. He was found dead on May 6 in a lake in Houston, Texas.

Ajami Had spent two years in prison in Iran and was denied higher education on the charges of propaganda against the regime and acts against the national security.

 

Iranian Medical Council Organization: 107 Iranian medical personnel died of coronavirus

 

Iran’s Medical Council reported that 792 medical personnel in Iran have contracted coronavirus and 107 have died.

A spokesman for the Medical Council Organization said: “We are quickly gathering data from around the country to find out exactly how many medical personnel have contracted COVID-19 and how many have lost their lives.

Other Islamic Republic officials, including the Ministry of Health, have provided different numbers.
