Afghanistan’s Ambassador in Italy: Release Mousavi and Karroubi

In response to Zarif’s comments about the Taliban, Vahid Omar, the ambassador of Afghanistan to Italy, asked the Iranian authorities to release Mousavi and Karroubi and make peace with Saudi Arabia.

In his tweet, Omar says: “Our Iranian friends; we may or may not bring in Taliban. But thank you for your advice. To reciprocate the neighborly goodwill, I call on you to share power with Mujaheddin Khalq and NCRI, release Karobi and Musavi and make peace with Saudi. Because we believe it is good for you.”

On Tuesday, in an interview with New Delhi TV, Javad Zarif said: “Planning a future for Afghanistan without considering a role for Taliban is impossible.”

According to Zarif: “Taliban shouldn’t play a dominant role in Afghanistan.”

In response to Zarif’s comments, Edris Zaman, the political deputy foreign minister of Afghanistan tweeted: “Allowing the participation of military groups in the government is against all diplomatic principles and it is a clear interference in domestic affairs of our country.”
